HWA AG got off to a successful Formula E start in the 2018/2019 season with its “HWA RACELAB” Team – following 20 years of racing success at the DTM. ITW-Schindler GmbH actively supports the success story of the HWA AG by providing electrical engineering safety and industrial safety, and also sponsors the HWA racing team.
Formula Student Racing Team
The Formula Student Racing Team at the Duale Hochschule Baden-Wuerttemberg (DHBW) in Stuttgart very successfully builds a Formula sports car every year. Formular Student is an international building competition in which university teams from all over the world participate. ITW-Schindler supports the DHBW student team not just financially but also with coaching and assessment as well as training courses.
The Duale Hochschule Baden-Wuerttemberg (DHBW) is one of the biggest universities in Baden-Wuerttemberg, with about 34,000 students. Oliver Schindler and Dr. Stefanie Kaffarnik-Schindler support the DHBW at both locations in Stuttgart and Horb as lecturers in the two topic areas of ”Further studies in vehicle drive systems“”and “Alternative drive systems”.
Inspire AG is the new sponsoring partner in Switzerland.
Since the end of 2020, ITW-Schindler is now also a sponsoring partner of the Inspire AG and e-Sling and supports students of the Swiss ETH Zurich in the construction of an electric aircraft. This is the first brand appearance of ITW-Schindler GmbH in Switzerland.
In and outside Europe, we, ITW-Schindler, are one of the leading suppliers of HV and electrical safety. In addition, we are also involved in the adaptation of high-voltage in the aviation segment through our support of start-ups and universities. Our focus is on technology consulting and standards compliance.
Mechanical and electrical engineering bachelor students are designing an electric aircraft for four people with a modular battery system supported by a Sling TSi in eight months. The project duration is from September 2020 to May 2021, concluding with the rollout at ETH Zurich. The students are developing a highly efficient electric powertrain with a newly designed modular battery and innovative cooling system. Furthermore, the construction will comply with the rules of the Swiss aviation authority FOCA in order to be certified as "Experimental".
